Part of a letter sent to Brenda Sampson by Alexander Schauss of USA

Oh, by the way, two months ago out of the blue, a tall muscular looking male of 22 came to our office asking to see me. He turned out to be the boy I described more than 12 years ago charged with the attempted murder of another school mate at the age of 9.

Today he is a straight A student completing his second year of college. He is also an accomplished athlete. He told our staff that our intervention prevented many people from getting harmed by him. "I used to fantasize hurting, maiming and killing people. I couldn't control my urges. Each time I tried to hurt someone, I tried to hurt them harder, like I wanted them to die. I know that if Dr Schauss had not found out what was wrong with me, I would have killed someone before I was 11 or 12."

I think it kind of made everybody here work harder listening to the effect our research can have on others. In spite of all the criticism I have endured, even attacks by the press and establishment, this one case, like so many others, reassures us (your organization included) that we are on the right track to urge a more sane and plausible approach to combine with traditional therapies.
